01/12/2010
AOL is continuing its push into online content by bringing in a new expert to run AOL Video.
The decision to appoint Ran Harveno, the founder of 5min Media, to the role of Vice President of AOL Video reflects its high hopes for the online video division.
AOL’s own figures showed that its streamed video views rose by 157 per cent between July and October this year to 493 million views.
AOL President of Media and Studios, David Eun, said the firm has no doubt that "video is the future of content."
